Lisa Stickley is an award winning designer, maker, author & illustrator. She is a committed lover of cabbage and marshmallows (although not necessarily at the same time) and has a penchant for collecting piles of old lined paper to doodle on.

Her textile products have been sold worldwide. For her picture books she was a finalist in the Made For Mums Awards in 2017 and nominated for the CILIP Carnegie & Kate Greenaway Award 2018.

Lisa’s children’s books include Handstand, My New Room, Dress Like Mummy & The New Baby.

I think the work Coram Beanstalk does to encourage confidence and fun in reading is invaluable. I wasn’t a natural bookworm when I was young and struggled with reading quite a bit in my teens. When I did manage to lose myself in a book it was amazing (thank you Roald Dahl!).

As a mother of two little ones I see the importance of encouraging children to enjoy reading as much as possible, as soon as possible.
