Coram Beanstalk, The Alligator's Mouth Book Shop, The Bright Agency and Gardners are offering schools the opportunity to win a set of the ten books longlisted for The Alligator’s Mouth Award 2026 which champions both authors and illustrators of highly illustrated children’s fiction. Now in its seventh year, the children’s book prize created by The Alligator’s Mouth children’s bookshop and The Bright Agency, celebrates the best books for 6-8-year-olds. To nominate a UK-based school to win a set of these ten longlisted books for their school library, just complete the short entry form before midnight on Tuesday 2nd June. There are three sets of books available and three winning schools will be chosen at random during the week of 8th June and notified on or around 15th June. Nominate a school now Judge Thiago de Moraes commented: “There's a delightful variety of themes, art styles, stories and representation in the longlist. It's fantastic to see how vibrant illustrated fiction for young people has become in the last decade or so.
