Latest stories News Coram Beanstalk schools entertained at BookFest 2025 Coram Beanstalk schools in London were invited to attend our annual Beanstalk BookFest just before their October half-term holiday. Over 200 children were lucky enough to draw along with Sheena Dempsey, author and illustrator of the 'Pablo & Splash' series of graphic novels or hear from Eve Wersocki-Morris who introduced the children to the first of her 'Clem Fatale' books. Crocodiles of children arrived early at Francis Holland School, who kindly allow us to use their premises to host our annual Beanstalk BookFest. The first session of the day was with Sheena Dempsey who introduced the children to her penguin-duo characters Pablo and Splash and taught them how to draw them for themselves! Every child had their book stamped and signed and they couldn't wait to start reading. In the afternoon, Eve Wersocki-Morris involved children from more Beanstalk schools in recreating the sounds of Piccadilly Circus in the 1950's (quite a cacophony!) and drew on volunteers to recreate some of the scenes from the book. Leaving everyone on a cliff hanger all the schools who came took away copies of the book for their libraries so that everyone could find out for themselves whether Clem ever finds her jewel-thief father! Getting stuck in immediately! Eve ready with her props. Sheena signing books. Talk to us about becoming a Coram Beanstalk school to access free author events like this! Manage Cookie Preferences
