The inaugural Beanstalk BookFest took place on Saturday 15th October at Francis Holland School SW1W 8JF.

The event was officially opened at 10am followed by author talks and workshops:

  • Abi Elphinstone 10.15am - 11.15am in the Main Hall (The Dreamsnatcher & The Shadow Keeper)
  • Piers Torday 12pm - 1pm in the Main Hall (The Wild Trilogy & There May Be A Castle)
  • Polly Faber 11.30am - 12.15pm in the Drama Studio (Mango & Bambang series)

Beanstalk also hosted a workshop entitled Reluctant Readers 10.30am - 11.15am in the Drama Studio which may be of interest to parents and reading helpers alike.

Tales on Moon Lane children's bookshop also attended to sell a range of early readers, story games and puzzle books. They also had copies of all the books written by our fabulous authors available to purchase and the authors will be signing copies at the end of their talks.

Trained Beanstalk reading helpers were on hand with refreshments and to entertain our young visitors between talks.

We are indebted to the authors who have given up their time but also to Ames Belgravia Property Consultants and Lucy Elphinstone of Francis Holland School who have been generous in helping to bring the Beanstalk BookFest to life. Together we have all played a part in ensuring that more children can experience the magic of reading" - Ginny Lunn, CEO Beanstalk ”
