Our one-to-one reading support programmes are perfect for schools, early years settings, secondary schools and virtual schools looking to help address shortfalls in children's "skill and will" to read. Volunteers are safely recruited, specifically trained and provided with ongoing support to have maximum impact on the children they help.
Our primary reading programme offers you capable, independent adults who are trained and supported to offer a high level of regular, tailored one-to-one support to children aged 3 to 11 years who have already fallen behind, or are at risk of falling behind, age-related expectations. Read more about how our Reading 321 can help you raise attainment.
Our early years programme trains volunteers to help children aged 3 to 5 years develop key pre-reading skills: motivation, engagement, speaking and listening, vocabulary and narrative skills, and self-confidence. Our secondary programme offers a powerful incentive to younger students to help them become effective, independent readers with the support of older peers, who themselves gain career-relevant skills and experience.
