On Sunday 14th August Beanstalk will be a featured charity on the BBC Radio 4 Appeal. Broadcast at 07:54 and 21:26, our appeal will feature Jill Pay, one of our reading helpers, and Moris, one of the children she supports, talking about their reading session experience.

Moris, who is nearly 8 years old and from Croatia, has one-to-one reading sessions twice a week with Jill. Like many of the children we support, Moris has English as an additional language and needs extra support to catch up with his classmates.

Featuring in the BBC Radio 4 Appeal is a fantastic opportunity for Beanstalk, it will help us to increase the level of support we are able to provide to the thousands of children who leave primary school every year unable to read to the expected level.

You can read more about Beanstalk’s appeal on the BBC Radio 4 website, where you can also listen to the broadcast and donate to the appeal after it has been aired.
