Important message from Coram Beanstalk in regards to COVID-19 April 2020 Coram Beanstalk understands it is a very difficult time for our reading helpers, partner schools and supporters. We want to thank you for all of your support leading up to the COVID-19 crisis and we hope that we will be working closely with you again in the near future. On March 16th the Government announced plans to close all educational settings on Friday 20th March 2020, therefore, we advised all of our volunteers to not attend their school or early years settings as usual. The advice we provided can be found further below. What do I do now? Coram Beanstalk will be sharing useful tips on our Resources page as well as our Facebook and Twitter accounts (@BeanstalkReads). If you are looking for brilliant resources to use with your children then search on Twitter using the hashtag #UnitedByBooks on Twitter to find resources recommended by Coram Beanstalk. You can also read advice provided in our Blog section of the website. Keep safe and look after one another. Ginny Lunn, MD, Coram Beanstalk Further guidance provided on 16th March 2020: If you are a Coram Beanstalk volunteer… We ask that no volunteers attend school to carry out reading sessions. We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis so we will contact you when it is suitable to return to your school and commence reading sessions. Please do not try to contact your school to let them know that you are no longer attending as we are sure they will be overwhelmed with people contacting them. We will be in touch on a regular basis with any changes, but in the meantime, we will be providing updates through the volunteer portal and our social media sites: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Ginny Lunn, MD of Coram Beanstalk, has recorded a message of thanks for all of our volunteers. If you are a Coram Beanstalk setting… We have asked that no volunteers attend their settings and not to contact you. We can assure you that we are working hard to find other ways in which we can support children with their reading skills. We thank everyone for their support in these challenging times.
