Could you provide our Fundraising team with support in administration, research and fundraising projects?

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience by supporting our Fundraising team on specific projects and administration. The role would suit someone looking to develop a career in the voluntary sector, and will involve working on:

  • Developing and leading on our Schools and Universities engagement strategy
  • Researching Trust prospects and making initial approaches
  • Researching corporate prospects with a view to developing our Corporate Reading Scheme across the country and making initial approaches
  • Supporting individual giving with appeal writing and management
  • Supporting a range of administrative duties, including recording donor details on our database (Raiser’s Edge) and thanking donors

We are looking for someone who can be flexible and is able to commit for a period of three to six months.

Skills and competencies

Although no previous charity experience is required, we are looking for someone who is passionate about our cause and mission.

A good standard of computer literacy is required. 

Previous experience of using a database and working in an office environment would be desirable but is not essential.

Organisation and reliability, creativity and excellent communication skills.
