About the role 

Hours: 21 hours per week 

Proposed Working Pattern: 3/4 days per week, Monday - Thursday 

Salary: £22k per annum pro rata (£13,200 actual) 

Proposed start date: Jan / Feb 2018 

Location: Remotely working, covering parts of the Yorkshire region including Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Doncaster, Kirklees and Hull. This role will involve being out and about across the areas so use of a car is essential.

Office: Linked to the Leeds office. Occasional travel to other offices will be required. 

Beanstalk Team Leaders act as Ambassadors in the local communities championing Beanstalk to grow and maintain the services delivered. 

We are looking for someone with significant experience of working within or with local educational settings, as the initial focus of the role will be on schools recruitment across the area. In addition, excellent communication skills and the ability to represent and promote Beanstalk to decision makers within educational and community settings is key.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of developing effective relationships with stakeholders and the skills to actively support and sell new programmes and initiatives.

This role will have some responsibility for managing and motivating the local team including staff and volunteers; people management experience is essential. 

The Team Leader will be a key liaison for the central Marketing and Communications team, providing local knowledge and representation as required, including attending and speaking at events.


  • Knowledge and understanding of education and literacy
  • Ability to represent and promote Beanstalk to education settings at Senior Management level
  • Experience of community engagement and relationship management
  • Ability to identify and exploit PR opportunities
  • Experience of motivating and managing people
  • Experience of working with child protection legislation and implementing good practice


  • High standard of writing copy to produce local communications
  • Experience of organising local and internal networking events
