Jack's Club is all about levelling the playing field for Looked After Children. By 2020, Jack's Club members will have raised over £1million to provide over 17,500 Looked After Children with a Beanstalk trained reading helper.

Why Jack's Club is needed

There are approximately 70,000 Looked After Children in the UK today, many of whom have been taken into care because of abuse or neglect by a family member

Jack's Club can help these children start a new chapter in their lives by providing them with the skills and confidence to reach their true potential.

Our aspiration

To launch a Beanstalk programme in areas with the highest rate of Looked After Children and:

  • Focus our work in the 10 areas with the highest rate of children in care
  • Recruit, train and support over 5,000 Beanstalk reading helpers
  • Provide over 17,500 children with a Beanstalk trained reading helper

This Beanstalk support will ensure:

  • Progress in their reading attainment
  • Increased confidence and self-esteem
  • Increased enjoyment of reading
