Instead of buying your co-worker another mug or cinnamon spice candle, how about an innovative new idea, give them something original for Christmas, say for example, a book?

This Christmas season, Beanstalk is asking you to ditch the last-minute high-street shopping mayhem and donate your Secret Santa budget to Beanstalk. Instead, pass on one of your favourite books from your own collection to your co-worker to enjoy!

At Beanstalk, we love to tell and share stories and we think recycling our favourite books is the perfect way to spread Christmas cheer and to give something thoughtful and meaningful to our friends. For you this means zero waste and zero fuss. For children across England, it means increased opportunities to read, grow and thrive.

FAQs:

  1. How do I get involved?

Suggest the idea to your secret Santa group, get everyone to donate by clicking the donate button on this page, and dig out a great book from your shelf to pass on to be read and loved by another!

  1. How much should I give?

We suggest donating the amount of your secret Santa budget – £5, £10, £20 – whatever feels comfortable for you.

  1. How do I decide what book to give?

This is perhaps the most difficult part of the Beanstalk Secret Santa book swap. You won’t want to part with your favourite book – but you should make sure you select a book that your co-worker will definitely enjoy. Here are our top tips:

  • For the gossip queen – Jane Austen
  • For the comedian – David Sedaris
  • For the cynic – Hemingway
  • For the workaholic – a book of short stories, maybe they’ll actually finish one

We have lots of lovely posters to place around your office or to email to your friends and family so please do not hesitate to contact our fundraising team who can send you out some materials!
