Beanstalk is a children's literacy charity that recruits, trains and supports volunteers to give one-to-one support to children struggling with their reading.

Our friendly and dedicated London North West team supports nearly 200 reading helpers across the area, enabling them to help more children discover the magic of reading.

Where do we work?

Beanstalk currently works in schools in the following boroughs:

  • Barnet
  • Brent
  • Enfield
  • Haringey

If you live or work in the above boroughs and are thinking of becoming a Beanstalk reading helper, then here's what to expect when you volunteer with Beanstalk.
