Beanstalk and children’s author and illustrator Steve Antony have teamed up this year to produce a limited-edition Christmas gift card featuring festive artwork from his book ‘The Queen’s Present’ - a story which follows the Queen as she races from Paris to New York in search of the perfect Christmas gift!

Beanstalk's Christmas gift cards can be bought in the amounts of £30, £60, £189 and £378. On receipt of each order Beanstalk will post a card noting the donation amount to the provided UK address for each the recipient. Inside each Christmas gift card is the story of Beanstalk as well as details about what the donation means for the children supported by the charity.

Beanstalk supports children who have fallen behind with their reading by recruiting, training and placing volunteers to work one-to-one with pupils in primary schools across England. Once trained, volunteers support three children one-to-one at a local school twice a week for 30 minutes each at a time. The sessions are engaging, interactive and hugely beneficial to the children receiving extra support and are often a turning point for struggling and reluctant readers.

Steve Antony, who is best known for the Mr Panda series and The Queen collection, kindly donated his illustrations to feature on the Beanstalk Christmas gift card, making it an extra special gift for the person receiving it:

He said: “I can’t think of a better Christmas gift: a very special card for an incredibly worthy cause. I hope lots of people buy them!”

When purchasing the Beanstalk Christmas gift card, buyers will get the chance to choose an amount which will be then donated to Beanstalk on behalf of the recipient of the card.

Beanstalk’s Chief Executive Officer Ginny Lunn said: “More people each year are looking for meaningful ways to make a difference at Christmas time and many of them choose to make a charitable donation in the place of a gift. We wanted to be able to offer something extra special to people wishing to support Beanstalk at this time of year, so we are particularly delighted to team up with the talented Steve Antony, whose festive illustrations feature beautifully on our limited-edition gift cards. We think it makes such a special gift for the recipient, while helping to continue our work supporting children with reading across England.”
