Join Beanstalk on a 3-day trek to the summit of North Africa’s highest peak, ending with a project visit to a cliffside village school to set up somewhere special to read. In addition to helping local children, the money you raise will help us spread the joy of reading to children across England...book your place now!

This trek, through the High Atlas Mountains to summit Mt Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak at 4167m, is not just a great challenge — it's also an immersion into the culture of the Berber people, Morocco's original inhabitants. Few roads penetrate this craggy mountain stronghold, where the way of life has changed little over centuries.

Our journey takes us from the exotic sights of Marrakech to the remote, barren and dry High Atlas mountain range. Our route is on a mixture of rocky and sandy paths as we pass grassy meadows, towering limestone peaks to sheer red-rock canyons, isolated patches of snow and flowing rivers.

After our epic ascent of the mighty Mt Toubkal, we continue our journey over the undulating foothills to the small rural Berber village of Tizi Oussem, where we spend a full day visiting a small school and assisting in revamping a class room.

Take part in this once in a lifetime adventure and change the story for children struggling with their reading.
