By Bryan Rossi-Anderson, Area Manager for Beanstalk London.

Hello, and welcome to our new London site!

We’ve set this section of our website up for our London based volunteers to find out all the latest information about Beanstalk, book places on our upcoming events, and read our range of blogs by reading helpers and staff members.

As a Londoner born and raised, it fills me with pride that I help oversee all of Beanstalk’s activities for what is the greatest city in the world!

London is home to over 1,000 Beanstalk reading helpers who – twice a week – help transform a child’s life by showing them the magic of reading and helping them to #readgrowsucceed.

We all know that life in London can be as hectic as the Central Line at rush hour, so I cannot emphasise enough how much pride everyone at Beanstalk has for all our volunteers who are able to find time in their week to help change a child’s life. It’s thanks to them that we are able to help over 3,000 children each year in London – and this is a figure we will have doubled by 2020!

One of the things which we’re so proud of at Beanstalk London is the diverse array of our volunteers.

As well as what we affectionately call our ‘community volunteers’, we have a huge number of ‘Corporate Volunteers’. Our corporate scheme exists for companies to get involved with Beanstalk, usually during the working day. We also have both children and reading helpers from all walks of life, cultures and religions. All of which helps make volunteering in London a wonderful experience!

If you’d like to get involved as a Beanstalk reading helper, then please do get in touch with your nearest London office!
