I am an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer and my last designation was Assistant Manager- Information Technology in India. Following that I took a break from my career to raise my three children.

I have always been passionate about numeracy since a very young age. I have assisted and supported children in mathematics for a very long time.

Having lived in Bahrain in the Middle East for 10 years we decided to move to the UK in 2016 so that my kids could pursue their education. I was browsing the internet for volunteering opportunities in education in the UK and I found Beanstalk.

I wanted to volunteer as I could relate to the passion Beanstalk has towards literacy. I believe literacy and numeracy go hand in hand. I also wanted to make a positive difference in a child’s life. I myself have been an avid reader so also to share my love for books and the magic it holds.

The highlight of volunteering with Beanstalk so far is being able to connect with kids of younger age groups. To be able to communicate with them and get positive results.

I have had the opportunity to see how schools take literacy so seriously.  The schools work hand in hand with Beanstalk to accomplish this commitment. Every child is given an opportunity to excel.

I have been totally impressed with Beanstalk’s commitment to help children who have fallen behind in reading. The support, encouragement and assistance provided to help children overcome that little hurdle to become excellent and confident readers...Priceless!!

If you are looking fulfilling, satisfying opportunity to simply ‘GIVE’ and to make a life lasting difference to a child’s life, I would definitely recommend volunteering with Beanstalk.
